Visit By Former Principal
posted on 05/20/08 @ 12:34pm
Recently former principal, Monsignor James E. Mortimer, paid a surprise visit to O'Hara. While officially retired as pastor of St. William Parish, Monsignor is still very much interested in our school.

Among other events, he spoke of the O'Hara Band and students involved in the greeting of Pope John Paul II when he visited Philadelphia in 1979.

A picture of Monsignor, Mr. Stratts and me is on the website. Monsignor was the 3rd principal of O'Hara. I was the sixth principal and Mr. Stratts is the ninth principal of COHS.

Thanks for the visit Monsignor.

Why were the trees cut down on the sides of the Building?
posted on 03/25/08 @ 09:27am
As part of the continuing program to replace the school's windows, it was necessary to remove all trees close to the building.

The upper floors could not be accessed by the contractor's equipment with the trees in the way.

Window replacement on both wings will begin in June, 2008 as Phase Two of the four phase window replacement project.
